David Pérez-Blázquez is a lecturer in legal translation at the Translation and Interpreting Department of the University of Alicante (UA), Spain. He also works as a sworn translator and occasionally collaborates as a freelance literary translator with the publishing house Cátedra. Pérez-Blázquez holds a PhD in Translation from the University of Valladolid (UVa), Spain. He also holds a degree in Translation and Interpreting (German) and a Master’s Degree in Institutional Translation from the UA. His research production focuses on issues related to history of translation and missionary translation in Hispanic America. In collaboration with the research groups Histrad (UA) and Mhistrad (Rey Juan Carlos University, Madrid) he has explored questions about reception of Hispanic literature in Germany and history of translation, especially in the Spanish and Hispanic-American area. Pérez-Blázquez has further participated in several research projects led by Professor Antonio Bueno, which were focused on monastic translation.
