Abstract
The function of tutoring is a question which must inevitably be dealt with in initial teacher education. In this paper the situation in Holland is analyzed together with the proposals which are derived from this analysis of the present models in this country's education system. A new strategy with three basic defining characteristics is proposed: the intensity of behaviour, contextuality and integration in the organizational system and in the centre's curriculum.
