Abstract

We have evaluated the clinical efficacy of the pneumotonometer Pulsair-Keeler regarding conventional applanation Goldman tonometry in a consecutive serie of 500 normal and glaucomatous eyes. The results here obtained indicate a statistical significative difference (P < 0,05) between both types of tonometry. Pneumotonography shows a significative tendency to overestimate low and underestimate high 9 ocular tensions. No satistical significant differences are found between pneumotonometry and Goldmann tonometry in values from 19 to 24 mmHg.
