Doctor by the Universitat d'Alacant / Universidad de Alicante with the thesis Proyecto a partir del modelo TPACK para desarrollar el aprendizaje de la Geografía en los estudios de grado de Educación Primaria 2015. Supervised by Dr. María Isabel Vera Muñoz, Dr. José Antonio Segrelles Serrano.

Isabel María Gómez-Trigueros holds a PhD in Educational Sciences (Extraordinary Doctorate Award) from the University of Alicante. Her research interests focus on the Didactics of Social Sciences, Information and Communication Technologies (ICT), Learning and Knowledge Technologies (LKT) and their implementation in teaching and learning processes through the TPACK model. She is also interested in the different digital gaps and, in particular, in the gender digital gap in teacher training, as well as in the importance of interdisciplinarity in education. These lines of interest articulate the activity of the Interdisciplinary Group for the Didactics of Social Sciences and Learning and Knowledge Technologies-GIDTAC, directed by Dr. Gómez-Trigueros (https://observatorio-cientifico.ua.es/grupos/24580/lineas#:~:text=Formaci%C3%B3n%20del%20pensamiento%20social,%20cr%C3%ADtico%20y%20creativo%20desde%20la%20interdisciplinariedad). Her research career has been recognized with the Teaching Innovation Award in the University category of the Association of Spanish Geographers (PIE-2022 Award). Currently, and since 2019, she holds the position of Vice Dean of the Master's Degree in Educational Research and the Master's Degree for Secondary Education, Baccalaureate, Vocational Training and Official Language Schools.
