Abstract
Approaching the area of phraseology occupied by paroemias from a gender perspective in-volves a confluence of two lines of research: language and discourse. The aim of this intro-ductory study is to check whether the paroemias included in the paremiological repertoire Refranero Multilingüe using the universal masculine are currently used in a feminised way. For this purpose, a lexicographical and textual corpus methodology is employed. Preliminary results seem to indicate that the paremias collected in the RefraneroMultilingue with the uni-versal masculine mostly accept feminisation in the discourse when the referent is feminine.
