Zusammenfassung
The presence of the Valencian humanist Juan Martín Cordero in Flanders in the mid-sixteenth century and his relationship with the printer Martín Nucio have led to believe thatboth could have collaborated in the edition of the Songbook of romances. Such a hypothesis is impossible to state for the editions of 1546 and 1550, because Cordero neither came to Flanders nor met Nucio until 1554, although this would allow him to have participated in the 1555 edition, at least as a chronological possibility. However, his activity as a translator and a proofreader of humanist works points in the opposite direction. In fact, one can confirm it since the 25% of the rules proposed in his spelling treaty are not followed by the Cancionero de romances of 1555, which was not corrected, therefore, by Juan Martín Cordero.
