Abstract

Older people are one of the social groups with the greatest risk of in the information and con-sumption society. Additionally, as the number of people in this group increases, this situation of potential discrimination can be extended to an increasing number of people, a sociological fact verified in Spain and the European Union. On this basis, the main objective of this research is to analyze, within the framework of comparative Law, the legal-social basis and the sociode-mographic profile that characterizes the digital divide among people over 64 years of age and, secondly, the influence of the use of Information and Communication Technologies in their quality of life, for the promotion of an ethical digitization focused on their fundamental rights in a constantly changing digital environment
