Nowadays, even though gender equality is an important matter of public interest, there are still areas in higher education where the male presence is overwhelming. We refer to technical studies in general and Computer Engineering in particular, where there is only 16 % of female presence. This fact made us think about the reason for this inequality. We tried to answer such question by means of a survey filled out by students of technical university degrees. Thanks to this survey, we have been able to understand what the motivations and opinions of the students of technical careers are regarding gender perspective. In addition, we have defined several proposals in order to foster the presence of women in such studies based on the survey’s results.
