Abstract

Can the skills, the techniques and the principles ofstrategic governance be used in the design andimplementation of the teaching program of a subject? This is the question we ask ourselves whendesigning the course Dirección Estratégica de lasTecnologías de la Información belonging to theMaster in Computer Engineering of the Universityof Alicante. These techniques will be applied to thekey aspects of educational innovation: learningagreement, objectives, assessment, teamwork and oral communication. Some of the innovative proposals, which have the dual purpose of being aninstrument of the subject but also including someaspects of management and continuous improvement, are the learning SLA (“Service Level Agreement”), the minutes of the learning process, theanalysis of IT trends and a creative space. Aftertwo academic years setting the teaching proposal, during 2014-2015 course we have analyzed thelevel of satisfaction with the subject of the students, and obtained the critical self-evaluation of thesubject teachers. The results have been very satisfactory, with comments like "it has been an effective learning experience". Students appreciate thatteachers practice what we preach. It makes us morehuman and more credible.
