Abstract

The following article collects the results of a pedagogical experiment developed during a one-semester course of Projects Zero at the University of Alicante in 2018. Through a progressive scaling procedure the course proposes an approach to the generative capacity of matter. Its intention is to build on an epistemological framework that surpasses the derivatives of generative algorithmic design in architecture by addressing not only the morphological genesis of mate-rial agency, but also the effects of it on human communities, in this case, a group of first-year students. The result indicates ways in which teaching in architectural projects can be useful to develop performative discursive practices, which, in an area whose discourse is so traditionally linked to representa-tion (systems of representation), is particularly challenging.
