Abstract
This paper is the result of a study carried out on a collection of folk tales from the Vila Joiosa (Marina Baixa, País Valencià). It consists of a phonetic transcription and a brief study on two folk tales, which had not been previously found in the Valencian Country, but in other spots from the Catalan speaking area. More precisely, one of them ("El soldat de la motxilla") is a Aa-Th 330B kind of folk tale, which according to the ATU classification would belong to the ATU 330 type, which has already been found in the Valencian Country; and the other ("El teuladí i el rabiblanc") is an ATU 245 type, very similar to the ATU 112, which has not been found in the Valencian Country yet. Therefore, this study is a new contribution to reaffirm the idea that Valencian oral folk tales belong to a broader collection of folk tales, which is part of the Catalan-speaking culture, and, of course, of the universal culture.
