Résumé

In this paper we present the results obtained during the last archaeological interventions carried out in the Bronze Age settlement of Laderas del Castillo (Callosa de Segura, Alicante). Considered as one of the most relevant Argaric sites for its importance during the beginnings of prehistoric research in the province of Alicante, the excavations developed since 2013 have confirmed its relevance inside the El Argar culture. This is due to its urbanistic magnitude, with structures built uninterruptedly on wide terracing platforms, but also to its long temporal occupation, attested by several radiocarbon dates. In this sense, the recent excavations in the settlement have brought to light an enclave whose contexts make possible to characterise the initial developments of the Bronze Age in Alicante and bring us closer to understand the beginnings and progression of the Argaric culture in its most northerly area.
