Resumo
In his work, Daniel Jimenez de Cisneros references the most important ornamental rock quarries in the Alicante Province in the first third of the 20th Century. Not only does he reference the existing quarries: Bateig and Amorqui (Almorquf) dimension stone quarries, Agudico marbles and commercial marbles (limestones) from Novelda, Sierra del Rollo and the upper layers of the Coto (white reef limestones) but he also advocates the great commercial importance of the lower layers of Coto (bioclastic nummulitic facies), which are currently being worked and commercialised as Crema Marfil.
