Sustainable development goals

Abstract

Gestalt theory laid the foundations to infer perceptual laws through empirical experiences relating the phenomenon of visual perception with epistemology. Thus, determining perceptual aspects involved in graphic design or in pictorial language itself could be intentionally used ever since based on the knowledge of these perceptual of laws. Some of these, such as ground-figure, continuity, closure or the different expressive possibilities arising from the use of transparency allow to unfold graphical stratification strategies increasing visual complexity and graphic narrative possibilities in what could be considered a truly graphic polyphony. This article aims to reflect on the topic disclosing teaching experiences that have been developed with real examples illustrating the expressive and narrative possibilities that arise from the intentional use of the laws of Gestalt in architectural drawing.
