Doctor by the Universitat d'Alacant / Universidad de Alicante with the thesis Un enfoque bayesiano para la extracción de características y agrupamiento en visión artificial 2000. Supervised by Dr. Francisco Escolano Ruiz.

Dr. Miguel Cazorla is a Computer Engineer from the University of Alicante (1995) and a PhD in Computer Engineering from the same University (2000). In 1995 he joined as a professor at the University of Alicante, going through all the figures (associate, assistant, head of school and holder of University). Since 2017 he has been a fullprofessor. He is IEEE senior member. He has completed several stays at foreign institutions (Carnegie Mellon University, University of Sydney and University of Edinburgh). He has published more than 60 articles indexed in JCR (with more than 30 in Q1) and more than 100 publications in national and international conferences. He has directed 19 PhD theses and is a principal investigator in several national projects (CICYT, Challenges), as well as has made multiple transfer contracts to the company. He is a member of different program committees of national and international conferences. His line of research has always been centered on computational vision. From the beginning he applied these skills to try to solve robotic tasks. Almost since its inception in research has worked in the processing of 3D data. In recent years he has diversified his lines to apply deep learning techniques to different areas (medical image, object recognition, depth estimation, identification of traffic objects, etc.). All his research in recent years has been focused on social robotics: application of all these techniques to help dependents.
