Abstract

Investment funds are increasingly present in agriculture, with significant potential to expand their influence in this sector. Currently, this influx of capital tends to amplify the negative effects of modern agriculture, which often disregards nature in favor of maximizing yield per hectare and profit. It also causes significant disadvantages for local producers, who struggle against the powerful machinery set in motion by these investments. However, the arrival of capital to agriculture could be positive for a sector that, in many regions, demands substantial modernization, while in others, it faces abandonment. To reduce economic pressures and improve socio-environmental aspects, it is crucial that investors understand firsthand the impact of their capital on the land. Additionally, regulatory bodies must properly plan land use and enforce laws governing the exploitation of natural resources.
