Resumo

Within the framework of this volume, which aims to analyse and understand the dynamics of transformation and discontinuity in domestic architecture in the urban sphere between Roman times and the emir period, the cases of Ilici (La Alcudia, Elche) and Eio/Iyyuh (Tolmo de Minateda, Hellín) can contribute significant and complementary archaeological information of residential built spaces from a diachronic perspective. Ilici is a Roman colony with a wide sequence of occupation between the Republican era and the Early Middle Ages (8th-9th centuries), which illustrates the evolution of residential spaces during the Later Roman Empire and Late Antiquity, while El Tolmo allows us to understand the urban dynamics between the 7th and 10th centuries, approaching the aggregation processes to form new domestic models within the Islamization framework.
