Resumo
Since 2001, the legislative development of advance directives has taken place in our legal system. Currently, all Autonomous Communities have their own regulations that coexist with the Basic Act regulating patient autonomy and rights and obligations regarding clinical information and documentation. All this has contributed to the existence of a considerable disparity in regulations, which has led to significant imbalances, also with regard to the formalisation and execution of the documents containing the advance directives.
