El portafolio como herramienta de formación en competencias enfermeras.Una experiencia práctica

Zusammenfassung
Objective: to describe the methodology used for the preparation of a portfolio, and to give visibility to student learning in the last Practicum subject of the Nursing Degree. Description of the innovative educational experience: the objective is to share the experience of preparing a learning portfolio as a tool for training on skills in the Practicum IV subject of the Nursing Degree. Three stages of portfolio preparation were considered: observation and documentary review, exploration-application, and description-evaluation of the experience. These three stages could converge simultaneously during the portfolio development. Results: the use of the portfolio represented a way to demonstrate the chronology of the learning and experience acquisition. It showed implicitly the dialogue with the problems coming up during clinical practice, as well as the strategies to manage them, to obtain knowledge, skills and competences by the student, boosting her own perception of those objectives and achievements reached. Conclusion: the experience of preparing a portfolio during the Clinical Practicum has contributed to a better utilization of practices. It represents an instrument which encourages reflection, creativity, critical thought, and the acquisition of skills; besides, it can be applied beyond academic training, in the ability to embody the professional trajectory.
