Abstract
The late medieval heraldic devices that appear in the coat of arms of the city of Lorca, four mottos written in Latin that accompany the shield or emblem, allude to the city and its territory, extolling its geopolitical, strategic and good government qualities. The correct meaning of the Latin voice of each of these mottos, proposing a translation into Spanish, contributes to the study of heraldry in the city.
