Resumen

The main aim of this thesis was to determine the prevalence of diagnoses, outcomes and nursing interventions in people with digestive stomas, as well as their association with clinical and socio- demographic factors. The thesis is composed of five studies. The methodology is based on an cross- sectional study, as well as a clinical trial. The main conclusion is that the prevalence of diagnoses, outcomes and interventions is heterogeneous from a physical, psychological and social point of view, which are essential in the development of care plans for people with ostomies. The period of health care, classified as surgical/hospitalisation and continuity of care, conditions the care plans. To highlight the usefulness of taxonomies to explore specific aspects of the care of these people, as well as their viability as variables in research applied to the care of people with ostomies.
