Resumen

The wide range of techniques and raw materials used to produce personal ornaments during the Bronze Age, led us to analyse the exchange systems within the Iberian Peninsula and in a broader scale. These trade networks contribute to explain the development of complex societies. Among the ornaments, the beads made of vitreous materials have a prominent role, because they are scarcely documented in II millennium cal. a.C. settlements of the Iberian Peninsula. This paper proposes a preliminary approach to the collection of the glass beads documented at Cabeza Redondo, which represents one of the most extraordinary assemblages recovered from an archaeological site dating prior to the Final Bronze Age.
