Resum

Based on the analysis of Mercè Rodoreda’s work as a whole, we will observe the psychological evolution of his characters in the face of various conflict situations. The ma-jority tendency to propose situations of escape, whether they are physical —with the option of suicide—, whether they are symbolic —with the mythical realization of some actions—, offers recurring features in the resolution of critical situations that provide a certain re-currence in his stories. Despite finding several precedents in the novels of the 1930s and those written during exile, it will be in recent works such as Viatges i flors, Quanta, quanta guerra... and La mort i la primavera that we will trace an intensification of the mythical construction of his imagination.
