Resumen

It is arguable that the strategic value has tourism in Spain has not received proportionate attention in the organization and planning adequate to the needs of a dynamic and complex sector as the tourism higher teachings. Through analysis of the structure and contents of curricula of tourism teachings in our country, from its beginnings to the present, pretends to show the parallelism of the proposals of higher tourism education and in particular the presence of materials linked to the Territory and Geography, with the main premises of touristic sector development. This study shows an evolution of educational plans in tourism denoting certain maturity in the sector, as evidenced by a change from the presence almost testimonial of the subjects of Geography of the first non-university plans to present now Degrees of tourism, that show incorporation of new plans the study of planning, management and forecasting of potential impacts of this activity, and the need to diversify and look for the territorial specialization is claiming the tourism sector and society itself.
