Resum
Law 8/2021, of June 2, which reforms civil and procedural legislation to support people with disabilities in the exercise of their legal capacity, partially modified by RDL 6/2023, of December 19, has been a relevant milestone in the recognition of rights and in the establishment of protection measures when they intervene in the process as parties or witnesses. This work analyzes article 13 of the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities and its application in our system after the aforementioned reform, in comparison with the current regulations in the English procedural system and, in particular, the approach that both systems have made regarding the figure known as Register Intermediary.
