Abstract

A series of samplings carried out in the Font Roja Natural Park (Alcoi, Alicante, Spain) have provided 80 species, 73 genera and 27 families of spiders. A new species is described: Liocranoeca alcoiana Barrientos & Hernández-Corral sp. nov. Alopecosa aculeata (Clerck, 1757) is cited for the first time for the Ibero-Balearic fauna; In addition, the Corinnidae family, 9 genera and 19 species, are the first appointment for the Valencian Community. Two other species are first appointment for the province of Alicante. 21.25 % of the species found are Ibero-Balearic endemics.
