Resumen

The Historia Apollonii regis Tyri is a late Latin novel, dated between the 5th6th centuries, which enjoyed, since its very beginning, a great reception and dissemination, which will be spread until the 17th century. One of the works which will echo this story is the exempla collection called Gesta Romanorum, composed in the 14th century with an obvious moral and doctrinal purpose. The original moral components of the Historia Apollonii regis Tyri will favour its value as a medieval exemplum and this will allow it to be included as such in the Gesta Romanorum.
