Resum
The Public Law Academy of Santa Barbara was created by the Borbonic Dynasty with reforming purposes. Its possibilities as an intellectual and political forum (with restrictions inherent in the enlightened dictatorship) were taken advantage of by the intellectual minority to discuss and raise questions related to the Judicial Spanish State and political problems that emerged during the XVIIth Century. The present analysis brings forward the invaluable contribution of Juan Sempere to the Academy.
