Resumen

Among the varied typology of structures built in the municipality of Fuente Álamo de Murcia with the drystone technique, skill world heritage, highlight what in the oral tradition and in historical cartography are called“cucos”. It is small constructions with a square, circular or oval floor plan and covered with a false domemade by approximation of stone courses, or by means of slabs of stone. The objective of the communication isto introduce four examples located to the north of this municipality that are reminiscent of other existing “cucos”in the Murcian Altiplano and on national lands of the Autonomous Communities of Valencia, Catalonia,Andalusia and Castilla-La Mancha. For this, its main architectural and typological characteristics are describedand a probable functional relationship with forms of agrarian exploitation of the rural environment that arenow extinct is added.
