Abstract
This work is part of an extensive study in which, in other objectives, we have carriedout an analysis of the cultural contexts of military environments in the Sertorianperiod. To this end, information has been recovered from the ancient excavationsof a series of forts located on the north coast of Alicante, such as Tossal de la Calaand Penya de l’Àguila. In addition to this information, we have also incorporatedthe information obtained through our excavations in the Tossal de la Cala between2013 and 2020, carried out through a collaboration agreement with BenidormTown Council. Thanks to this research we have been able to establish a typologyof the material culture of the Sertorian contexts and what their diet may have been.
