Abstract
In this interview with Alberto Acosta we talk about the recent political processes in Latin America and their global connections. The interview was programmed to take advantage of the interviewee's global, environmental and socialist perspective and from the commitment and political experience. He is a multifaceted intellectual, a transatlantic traveler and an unwavering ethical and political commitment to the emancipation of peoples and to ecological and cultural balance. The result of this interview is the obtaining of a unique and differentiated testimony from an analyst of the stature of Professor Acosta, who treasures an exceptional political heritage, the result of an extensive and intense career marked both by his links with social movements and activism. , as in institutional politics (President of the National Constituent Assembly of Ecuador and Minister of Energy and Mines of Ecuador in 2007, Candidate for the Presidency of Ecuador for the Plurinational Unity of the Left in the 2013 elections). Alberto Acosta has had strong links with the Universitat d'Alacant for more than a decade, materialized not only in research collaboration through some publications, but also with his presence, at least since he presented his analyzes and the contributions of Sumak Kawsay. in a summer course in 2010 on "Cultural Development and Diversity: concepts and measures of Sumak Kawsay”[1], until his brilliant intervention in the last research seminar on Rights of Nature in 2022 organized by the Universitat d'Alacant.
