Abstract

The films El mar, Pa negre and Incerta glòria, which are based on canonical contemporary Catalan novels, complete Agustí Villaronga's trilogy on the Spanish Civil War. The filmmaker focuses on the nature of evil and how it is spread, moving away from previous manichean and epic films on the same subject made by other authors.
