Resum
Research developed in the south of the Roman Tarraconense Provincia (Southern part of the current Valencian Country) has allowed characterizing a varied Roman rural landscape. In this paper, we present de cases of study of the territories of the roman towns of Ilici and Dianium where various settlement patterns are identified that related to different ways of economic and territorial organization. We found the abundance of small villae in the urban environment while in the most far away spaces of the town the predominance of small peasant settlements is documented. We present archaeological evidences of the form of this type of smaller peasant sites and its spatial ordering and a proposal of integration in an economic model.
