Résumé

The functions of contrast sensitivity provide information on the quality of the human visual system. One of the most Common methods used at present to determine these functions is the Vision Contrast Test System (VCTS). This paper is a study of the ranges of variabilitv of these functions in a wide population of young subjects and of how thev are influenced by a var iation in the level of illumination, so that adequate criteria for diagnosis may be established in characterising normal vision.
