Applicable regulations and legislation stipulate several actions in the field of plastic in order to enhance its recycling and reuse. In this regard, legislation regulates the destruction of unsold surpluses of non-perishable products such as toys and promotes initiatives such as the reuse and donation of toys, their repair or reuse and subsequent recycling in the established hierarchy. The strict regulatory requirements for the toy sector also make it necessary to address safety aspects of the raw materials used and, consequently, new methods are required to ensure that they comply with the requirements demanded by the sector. For this reason, AIJU is working on the development of projects that make it possible to calculate the disposition of this raw material up to the source of production, as well as to verify that they do fulfil the physical-chemical requirements imposed by the sector and to implement reliable methods that guarantee that they are suitable for its use. It also aims to recover recycled material that currently has no further use beyond energy recovery, as well as its applicability in the target industry and other related industries in order to have a wider range of recyclable material available
