Resum

Landslides are gravitational processes that annually cause important human infrastructures damages. Recognition of landslides is made identifying various geomorphological features on terrain surface. Once identified, the study of these processes demands a detailed description that includes, besides other data, its geometric dimensions. The used terminology facilitates the communication between professionals. Alcoy, located in Alicante Province, suffer a great number of this phenomena due to two causes, the growth of the city around the step river sides and the predominant lithology in the area. In this work we present the principal features and geometric characteristics of the landslides, applying them to a great landslide that affects the city of Alcoy, called Carretera del Molinar Landslide.
