Abstract

One of the increasingly obvious challenges in university classrooms is motivating students to beresponsible for their own learning path. We find that passive learning leads to little involvement on thepart of the students, who only seek to pass the exam. To reverse this situation, we have incorporatedactive elements into the finance classroom to boost learning. Specifically, elements of the flippedclassroom have been used thanks to the support of Moodle and the tools it provides. Simulation caseshave been incorporated, where the students actively carry out the practical exercises on their own andthen proceed to their joint correction. Finally, it is planned to incorporate gamification elements so thatlearning is more dynamic and closer to real situations. In principle, the good initiative of the studentshas been perceived, which shows a greater predisposition, as well as the development of a moreactive attitude in the classroom. In addition, students, through the evaluation surveys, have shown theirapproval of the inclusion of these methods, reaching an outstanding score for the teaching staff. This isa starting point to continue working on promoting a more active learning system for students that allowsthem to better consolidate knowledge and simulate real situations in work environments.
