Resumen

This article aims to address the challenge of regulatory developments in the area of digital service providers and marketplaces, generically described as digital platforms. It is necessary to highlight the challenge of adapting existing rules to today‘s digital markets, which are characterised by the mediation of digital platforms, creating a digital economy largely dominated by these players. These platforms provide infrastructures and facilitate interactions between providers and users for the supply of products, services, digital content and information online. The development of these digital scenarios, which facilitate the development of business in digital environments, assisted by these actors, causes significant disruptions affecting especially the competition model, given that the fact that the platforms are themselves markets, as well as the position they have as contracting parties, leads to the development of conduct that significantly affects proper competition in the market, as well as the contractual design of the relationships between the involved parties.
