Abstract

In this paper, the research process is outlined together with the interpretation of the ideomorphs, characteristic of the Late Neolithic and Chalcolithic of the Iberian Peninsula and referred to as “Idols” in the bibliography. They were originally considered to come from the East and were regarded as expressions related to the Mother Goddess. Currently they are interpreted form a social perspective. Linked to lineage and ancestry, they are an ideal expression of the ideological cohesion of the groups that would generate or accept them.
