Resum
The claimed amount determination of the dispute influences procedural aspects as important as the choice of procedure and access to appeal. In addition, its close connection with the costs valuation turns it in a fundamental element for the parties. Despite the thoroughness with which the adjectival provisions regulating the matter are expressed, it is possible to find light-and-shade areas in its application, so it is very useful for the legal actor to know the latest positions held thereon by the case law and legal doctrine.
