Résumé
It rarely happens that two countries so close to each other and with a similar legal tradition regulate the same figure differently. In this case, while Spanish law admits the validity of same-sex marriages, Italian law has not yet recognised them, having limited itself to introducing the civil union between persons of the same sex, which, although they are similar to marriage in some respects, at the same time they are clearly disadvantaged in others, which undoubtedly entails discrimination.
