Abstract

The ERASMUS+ program favors the acquisition of professional teaching skills and contrib-utes to the construction of European citizenship, a humanistic concept that must be achieved through education. This research aims to analyze to what extent the ERASMUS+ program ben-efits teachers’ professional development and its impact on educational practice. For data col-lection, a semi-structured interview was used and the qualitative program AQUAD was used to analyze the narratives obtained. The results show that the ERASMUS+ program fosters the network of cross-border teaching contacts and promotes the direct exchange of new methodolo-gies and resources among education specialists, promoting educational innovation and, in turn, the learning and use of the foreign language, among others. The benefits obtained go beyond the professional field, showing personal benefits such as increased security, autonomy and mo-tivation. On the other hand, an attempt is made to project the repercussions of the program in order to promote participation in it, considering ERASMUS+ as a dimension that contributes to quality in the professional development of teachers
