Résumé

From 2016 to 2020, this working team has been carried the tasks to recognize the singular and mature forests of the “Mancomunidad de Municipios de las Sierras del Segura”, since these are a good starting point to establish a favorable reference state of ecosystems conservation that they represent; also, this groves are very scarce, considering that they correspond to stages of forest dynamics that have normally been suppressed by human management, constituting biodiversity nodes by forming in many cases a mature ecosystem that could be a paradigm of resilience to climate change very useful for forest conservation and management. Forty-three taxa have been considered, at least microfanerophytes, arboreal or shrub autochthonous, capable of constituting climactic vegetation in the study area, visiting the singular plant formations in the field during 2020, in order to assess and map them, finally inventorying a total of 24 formations. A first assessment of the condition of the surveyed forests has been carried out. This evaluation is presented in the annex II, where the groves are characterized according to the LIFE REDBOSQUES Project methodology (Phase 1), based on qualitative indicators or semi-quantitative, allowing a first assessment of the degree of naturalness of each forest on a scale of 1 to 9, all of them are between 5 and 8, and most of them at a “High Level of Naturalness. These groves seem to be progressing into a higher state of maturity.
