Abstract

The present work evaluates in 29 inmates of the Alicante penitentiary centre —who underwent the Psychoeducational Intervention Program in Road Safety (PROSEVAL)— the recidivism in crimes of this nature during the two following years after the end of this program (2018- 2020). The rate of recidivism was 10.7%, occurring mainly at the end of the first year of intervention and for the offence of driving without a licence and after ingesting alcohol or drugs. Likewise, there is little recidivism among the participants, which confirms the positive incidence of this treatment in reducing crime in alternative to custody measures, especially in primary offenders.
