Abstract
Lavínia 2016 o la guerra dels poetes, by artist Enric Sió and writer Emili Teixidor, is a comic published in 1968 for Oriflama magazine and which still retains a cult following status for being the first one of its kind released against Franco in Spain. Based on a narrative approach which is characteristic of science fiction, such as dystopia, Sió and Teixidor subvert it by means of a parody which enables them to elaborate a political remark in a freedomless context, especially with regard to survival difficulties of Catalan culture. With an approach which is innocuous on the surface thanks to a mocking tone but which, instead, belongs to the edges of cultural panorama, this artefact becomes an exemplary work which, by absorbing mass culture elements, sends an avant-garde message against conventionalisms.
