Abstract

The objective of this article is the pragmatic analysis of the metaphor as a linguistic resource capable of transmitting humorous content in oral and colloquial discourse. From the analysis of various conversational fragments, we will try to show how metaphor (together with other phenomena such as irony or politeness) can enhance the humor of an exchange starting from the issuer itself as an evaluative goal; this fact will result in positive or negative pragmatic consequences that will affect the social image of the interlocutors
