Abstract
A study of the reconstruction works of San Juan Bautista Church in Elche was carried out by Serrano Peral after the analysis of the documents kept in the General Archive of the State Administration belonging to Rebuilding Parochial Churches. These documents highlight two ways of understanding architecture by the same author: a first project with the reconstruction characteristics of the post-war period and a second one within changes in Spanish architecture from the 50s, which shows the varied activity of the architect born in Elche. This second project emphasizes his peculiar neo-Byzantine style related to his other constructions.
