Recomendación de pomada anestésica EMLA en la punción a pacientes sometidos a hemodiálisis periódica

Aims. The object of this study is to justify the recommendation of the cream use of anesthetic effective to diminish the pain of the medical in patients submissive Hemodialysis (HD) of the General Hospital of Alicante. Methods. One is a descriptive observational study made as a sample of 38 patients submissive periodic HD in the university general hospital of Alicante. The partner-demographic data and the permanence take shelter in questionnaire of own elaboration and to measure the pain the visual analogical scale is used (VAS). The collection of data is made by the same observer and the pain the medical in such patient is evaluated with and without the use of the cream one during 3 sessions and the appearance takes shelter of adverse effects. The analysis of results is made by means of statistical package SPSS. Results. Of the 38 studied patients a 71% are men as opposed to 29% of women average 56 years old. 63.2% of the patients have VAS observed below 4 and the 26.8 have observed VAS of 5 more or. Without cream the anesthetic EMLA the average score of pain is of 7.3333 and with lotion diminishes until 1.666. Conclusions. The differences in the use of the anesthetic cream one imply a reduction of perception of pain, the upper middle level at the low level. It seems recommendable to deepen in these studies since one is a small sample that has served as pilotage and it cannot be conclusive. The absence of adverse effects recommend that it facilitates the patients submissive periodic HD.
