Resumen
This paper deals with the analysis of the semantic function of the argumental prepositional complement in Spanish grammatical studies and, therefore, how the preposition which introduces it has been dealt. With this purpose it describes and analyzes the two basic perspectives from this issue has been studied. Thus, we can realize not only that there is no a clear semantic characterization of this syntactic function but also that such characterization cannot be a solid criterion for differentiating it from other functions, such as the adverbial
