The following pages attempt to offer a full view of the research into the history of astronomy made by Juan Andrés, from the beginning of human culture until the 18th century. This analysis, included in a broader work called Origen, progresos y estado de toda la literatura, stands out on account of its modern and precise ideas, thus representing an interesting knowledge base for comparing the view of astronomy during the Enlightenment with that of the present.
